Susan Eleanor Brannan, age 71, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 in Arcadia, FL. Susan was born November 27, 1940 in McKeesport, PA, moving to Arcadia in 1979 from Bradenton, FL. Susan was a secretary for the DeSoto Co. Board of County Commissioners, retiring in 2006, after 27 years of faithful service. She enjoyed sewing, NASCAR, gardening, and most of all, spending quality time with her family and her grand and great grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. Susan is survived by two sons; David A. (Susan) Henderson, Arcadia, FL, Truman Wayne (Sheri) Chancey, Jr., Utah, three daughters; Maggie (Justin) Layport, Palmetto, FL, Suzi (Todd) Weaver, Ft. Myers, FL, Kim Dazey, Arcadia, FL, three brothers; Grant (Linda) Ruth and Bob (Franny) Ruth both of Mishawaka, IN and Mike (Depa) Ruth, Benton, KY, grandchildren, Jerry II, Jeff, Deanna, Jessie, Bryan, Brandy, Dustin, David II, Daniel, Cale, and Daniel, great grandchildren, Harleigh, Jazmin, Ryan, Dreyden, Gracie, Maci, Devin, Hunner, and Jaliyah Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Ruth, a daughter, Beth Ann James, two sons; Dean Robert Henderson and Robert Grant Henderson, and a great grand son, Ronin Colon. Visitation will be conducted on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Tuesday June 12, 2012 at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Dr. Harold Brown will officiate.
