DeSoto- Edwina "Eddie" Childress 67, of Arcadia, Florida passed away March 14, 2013. She was born August 6, 1945 in Portland, Maine and moved to Arcadia in 1976 from Sarasota, Florida. Edwina worked for WalMart for 17 years as a pharmacy stock clerk. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, painting, reading and her family, including her WalMart family. Edwina was of the Baptist faith. Edwina is survived by her ex-husband, James Hobbs, Ashville, N. Carolina, sons; Dion (Jennifer Zalewski) Hobbs, of Arcadia, Florida, James B. (Cherre) Hobbs, of Arcadia, Florida, daughter, Lisa (Phillip "Mickey") Cloninger Jr., of Lake Placid, Florida, brother, Ronald (Dottie) Moody, of N.C., grandchildren; Branden, Caitlin "Alex", Braxton, Madison, Ashley, Ambrea and Braeden Hobbs, Phillip "Pike", Pierce and Parker Cloninger, Lizzie, Quentin and William Smith, and great grandchildren; John and Hunter Perry. Edwina was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Childress, parents; Edward and Mary Catherine Adams Moody, and grandson, Michael Brandon Hobbs. Services will be held at a later date.
