Carolyn G. Prescott, age 81, passed away Monday November 24, 2014 in Arcadia. She was born June 9, 1933 in Clinton, Miss to the late Lemuel T. & Grace Smith Fagan, Sr. Carolyn along with her family moved to Arcadia in 1946 from Gainesville, FL. She is of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Carolyn was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed. She worked for the DeSoto County Health Department for many years. Her family describes her as a wonderful cook and loved to have family gatherings. Carolyn along with her loving husband of 62 years LaVaughn enjoyed traveling to the mountains of Georgia and Tennessee, with a special love for Pigeon Forge. She is survived by her husband Irving LaVaughn Prescott of Arcadia, three sons Kenneth W. (Margie) Prescott, Sr., Larry A. Prescott, Sr. and Glenn H. (Terri) Prescott, Sr. all of Arcadia, one daughter Sandra K. Prescott-Factor of Arcadia, two brothers Osee (Dorothy) Fagan of Gainesville, FL. and A.R. (Florie) Fagan of Tennessee, one sister Jayne Hope of Gainesville, FL.; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from 12:30pm until 1:00pm at Brownville Baptist Church, 7015 NE Cubitis, Arcadia. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm at the Brownville Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia.
