Carolyn Jane McFarlin, age 71, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota, FL. Carolyn was born in Virginia, November 22, 1941. She moved to Arcadia 19 years ago from Sarasota, FL. Carolyn worked as a director for a Pre School Day Care facility for several years. She was a homemaker for the last 20 years. Carolyn was an avid reader. She was a member of Pine Creek Chapel, Arcadia, FL. She loved her church family and helping out as needed at the church. Carolyn also volunteered at the Desoto co. Library for a while. Survivors are her beloved husband of 19 years, Robert Bob McFarlin, Arcadia, FL, one daughter, Teresa L. (Greg) Blount, Venice, FL, step daughter, Sandy (David) Gaine, Sarasota, Fl, two step sons; Ricky (Jennifer) McFarlin, Inverness, FL, and Robert Dale Bobby McFarlin, Sarasota, FL, five grandchildren, Daniel, and Crystal Blount, Lacey McFarlin, Jessica and Ashley Gaine. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bob and Billie Greenwood Hayes. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Pine Creek Chapel, Hwy 72 West, Arcadia, FL.
