Carla D. Murphy, age 63, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2013 in Arcadia, FL. Carla was born in Arcadia, FL, December 16, 1949. She was the office manager for Turner Realty. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending quality time with her family. Carla was a hard worker and excellent mother who served as matriarch of her family when it came to maintaining peace in the family. Carla s favorite Bible passage was Matthew Chapter 5 Verse 9: Blessed Are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called the Children of God . Carla was a faithful member of Brownville Baptist Church, Brownville, FL. Survivors are her children, Jake (Holley) Murphy, Pottsboro, Texas, and Kim ( David) Paul, Arcadia, FL; sisters; Lee (Gene) Rich, Kay (Robert) Reed, and Beth (Robert) Staton all of Arcadia, FL and Cindy (Julian) Wright, Punta Gorda, FL, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Carla is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allison Murphy in 2011, her parents, Archie and Mildred Thompson Tisdale, and brother, George Murphy. Visitation will be conducted from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2013 from Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home chapel, 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Graveside funeral services will at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia, FL with Rev. Matt Roberts and Rev. Roy Arms officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
