Carl A. Bradshaw, age 93, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Englewood, FL. He was born April 4, 1919 in Wofford, Kentucky and moved to Arcadia 63 years ago from Cookeville, Tennessee. Carl was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Carl worked as a school teacher for over 27 years in DeSoto County. He taught Industrial Arts at DeSoto High School and DeSoto Middle School. Carl served our County in the United States Air Force with tour during WWII. Carl s hobbies included bird watching, fishing, traveling and square dancing. He is survived by two children; a son David C. (Donna) Bradshaw of Seminole, FL. and Carol Ann (Dennis) Gonzalez of Ruskin, FL., three grandchildren Kenneth (Jill) Bradshaw, Derek Bradshaw and Kevin Gonzalez. Carl was preceded in death by his wife Aleene S. Bradshaw, parents Frank and Alice Bradshaw and brother Leon Bradshaw. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia with Rev. Ellis Cross officiating.
