Jose C. Velasco, age 76, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 in Arcadia, FL. He was born in Mexico, July 18, 1937, moving to Arcadia, FL more than 30 years ago from Mexico. Jose was a worker for a local sod company. He enjoyed working around the house, planting flowers and recycling things that could be repaired. He also enjoyed quality time with his family. He looked forward to going out to eat with them and traveling back to Mexico on vacations. He was a member of St. Paul s Catholic Church. Worth, TX, Lino (Mar a de Jesus) Velasco, Arcadia, FL, Pedro (Emilia) Velasco, Mexico, Juan Velasco, Arcadia, FL, Martin Velasco, Ft. Worth, TX, Panfilo (Blanca) Velasco, Arcadia, FL, Luis A. Velasco, Arcadia, FL. Four daughters; Maria G. Velazco, Arcadia, FL, Silvia (Juan) Hernandez, Arcadia, FL, Liliana (Rodolfo) Ramirez, Plant City, FL, Bianca Velasco, Arcadia, FL, three brothers; Seferino (Ivon) Velasquez, Jose (Maria Magdalena) Velasco, Jesus Velasco, three sisters; Maria (Antonio) Velasquez, Evangelina (Jose) Pineda, Hipolita Velasco, twenty six grand children and nine great grand children. Jose is preceded in death by his parents; Nicanor and Josefa Munoz Velasco. Visitation will be conducted from 5PM until 9PM, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10AM at St. Paul s Catholic Church, Arcadia, FL. Burial will follow in Joshua Creek Cemetery.
