Obituary

Arthur Albert Anauo, age 80, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 in Sarasota, FL. He was born March 19, 1933 in Ticonderoga, NY and moved to Arcadia in 1997 from Newcomb, NY. Arthur was of the Protestant faith. Arthur was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother and will be missed by anyone who knew him. Arthur loved people, especially his family, babies and children. Arthur served our Country in the United States Air Force and toured during the Korean War. Arthur was a very talented musician, playing the guitar. He and his wife, Marlene played at the Grand Ole Opera in October of 1994. Arthur was an accomplished wood worker, making many things for family and friends. He taught quilting to the Arcadia Girls Academy, was a long distance runner, running several marathons, played team hockey with his sons, was a Boy Scout leader, loved flower gardening, and coached tennis. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Marlene J.(Auge) Anauo of Arcadia, Fl.; four sons Brian (Lori) Anauo of Alexander, NY, Craig (Paulette) Anauo of Veneta Oregon, Randy (Sherry) Anauo of Elba, NY and Edward (Michelle) Anauo of Kalispel, MT, two daughters Sharon (Grant) Brooks of Lockport NY and Bonnie (Marty) Hoover of Rochester, NY, three brothers Vernon Ed (Betty) Anauo of Apollo Beach, FL, Ernest Anauo of Galax, VA , Walter Cappy (Arlene) Anauo of Appleton, WI and James Anauo of Bridgeport, OH, two sisters Jean Lealofi of Kalamazoo, MI and Elsie (Kenneth) Bush of Warsaw, NY, thirteen grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. Arthur was preceded in death by his first wife, Annette Clara Menard, daughter Karen Anauo, parents Charles E. and Beatrice M. Caza Anauo, four brothers and one sister. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Hwy 72, Sarasota, FL. with Military Honors presented by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
