Karen R. Barrett, age 33, and her son Daylan W. Barrett, age 8, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in Arcadia. Karen was born January 28, 1977 in Arcadia, FL. and was a lifetime resident. She moved to Birmingham, AL for a short period of time where Daylan was born, October 3, 2002. They both where of the protestant faith and members of Arcadia Church of God. Karen and Daylan both loved the outdoors, they enjoyed riding their four wheelers mudding together. Karen was a very loving wife, mother and sister and Daylan was a typical boy who enjoyed playing baseball, hunting and fishing. They both will be missed very much by their family and friends. They are survived by her beloved spouse( father), Gary Wayne Barrett of Arcadia, FL, two daughters( sisters), Breanna C. Barrett and Brooke R. Barrett both of Arcadia, two brothers(uncles), Scott M (Teresa) Dunn of Arcadia, Fl and Travis W. (Rebecca) Dunn of Polk City, FL., one sister ( aunt), Britney (Brandon) Jacobson of Arcadia, Fl, parents (grandparents) Terry W. Dunn and Minnie F.(Daryl) Abbott, all of Arcadia, FL., grandparents, Gary Wayne Barrett, Sr. and Diane (Luther) Platt, grandmother Zuella Dollinger of Arcadia, FL, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral Services will Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00AM at Arcadia Church of God, 1423 NE Oak St., Arcadia with Rev. Steve Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
