David Loran Rude II, known as Dave, 55, passed away on September 19, 2024. Born on August 25, 1969, in Arcadia, Florida, he lived there until moving to Cape Coral in 2013.

After graduating from Desoto High School, he served a decade in the U.S. Air Force as an Avionics Technician, earning numerous awards. Following his military career, he became a Senior System Engineer at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute.

Dave enjoyed woodworking, flying drones, and exploring new technologies. He loved sharing knowledge and often provided detailed explanations to help others understand complex concepts. He was a teacher and educator at heart. Dave had a vibrant personality and will be most remembered for making others feel valued.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents David L Rude and Margaret (Rodgers) Henderson, his aunt Shirley (Rodgers) Shelby and both sets of grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; son, Matthew; daughter, Victoria (William); sister, Maggie (Shawn); niece, Meagan (Bryson); and two grandchildren, Caleb and Zoe.

Dave will be missed tremendously by so many and his bold personality and positive attitude will never be forgotten.

The Service will be on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 10:30AM in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, Pastor Ellis Cross will be officiating, with the burial to follow at Owens Cemetery with full military honors presented.
