Obituary

David H. Hottois, age 63, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Port Charlotte surrounded by his three loving daughters. He was born May 8, 1947 in Cleveland, OH and moved to Florida 39 years ago. David has lived in Arcadia for the past 23 years. He was of the protestant faith. David enjoyed the outdoors; some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, boating, golfing and camping with family and friends. He also loved taking long rides on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. David gave service to our great country in the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. David is survived by three daughters, Stephanie L. Hottois, Melissa S. (Kris) Lane and Verita N. Hottois all of Arcadia, FL.; mother, Doris Mae Hickox Hottois of Port Charlotte, FL, two brothers Richard (Carol) Hottois of Port Charlotte, FL and Charles (Kathy) Hottois of Hinckley, OH; one sister Lynda Cleveland of Brunswick, OH; six grandchildren, Nathaniel Hottois, Tiffany Lane, Nicole Emory, Michael Lane, Sean Lane and Miranda Briest; numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00PM at the chapel with Rev. Richard Englert officiating from the First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers the family request donations for assistance of expenses.
