David
Holloman
June 24, 1934 – November 6, 2024
David Holloman of Arcadia, passed away on November 6, 2024, at the age of 90. I was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1934.
My father was in the US Navy and that was his home port. He was transferred in 1938 to Washington, D.C. My family rented a house in Arlington, Virginia and lived there for 7 years.
On good days my father would walk to the Navy Offices by crossing the Memorial Bridge. At the conclusion of World War II my father retired to DeSoto County Florida.
He joined the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia in 1946. I graduated from DeSoto County High School in 1952.
I became a student of Davidson College in North Carolina in 1952 and graduated in 1956. Upon graduation I went on to the University of Chicago and graduated in 1959. Also in 1959 I passed the Florida Bar examination and was sworn in to the Florida Bar Association. I practiced law for 48 years and was then honorably retired by the bar.
I married Kay McNair in 1955 that was the most important event of my life.
I am now with Kay in heaven and will be with Kay for eternity. I cannot ask for more.
There will be a Graveside Service at Oak Ridge Cemetery on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 4:00PM. Reverend Will Brown will be officiating.
