On September 18th, 2026, David Reed Carroll passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones in Lorida, Florida. David will be remembered for the love and passion he had for his God and his family.

David was born on August 14th, 1956, in Trenton, Michigan to parents Wallace Reed and Brownie Eloise Carroll. He spent his school days in Michigan and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor. After high school David went on to the Baptist Bible College of Springfield, Missouri. David earned his bachelor's degree in ministry and worked as a licensed drug and alcohol counselor before following his true passion, teaching the word of God. He then became a pastor, a devoted and cherished position he held for over 54 years. David proudly served as pastor for The Calvary Baptist Church in Hohen Wald, Tennessee, Taylor Center Baptist Church in Taylor, Michigan, Tabernacle Baptist Church also of Taylor, Michigan, and most recently was the pastor at Brighton First Baptist Church in Highlands County, Florida.

David wrapped his life around God and serving him in everything he did. He not only loved to study and preach Gods word, but he also lived by it.When David wasn't teaching the gospel, he loved to spend time with his family. He was also a huge Michigan State fan and made sure to always find some time to cheer on his team. After years of service, David eventually became fond of camping, escaping the busyness of the world and finding quiet solitude among gods land and creatures. His wife also remembers him 'loving a good seafood dinner!'

David is preceded in death by his father, Wallace Reed Carroll and his mother, Brownie Eloise Carroll.

David is survived by his wife, Jennifer Carroll; his sons, Robert Albritton (Robin), and Adam Flora (Lori); His daughters, Megan Carroll, Christi Hinson (Jared), and Jenny Vest; his sister, Wanda Kay May (Chuck); His grandchildren, Emma Wilson, Ethan Hinson, Tyler Vest, Taylor Vest, Jenelle Vest, Tegan Vest, Joseph Albritton, Vivian Albritton, Zuri Albritton, Alex Flora, Joshua Flora, and Gabriel Flora; and his great-grandchildren, Jensen Wilson, Yasheer Vest, and Yazier Vest.

A memorial service will be held for David on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with the gathering at Brighton First Baptist Church where David was preaching before his passing. The address is: 24050 FL-70, Okeechobee, Florida 34974. 
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Brighton First Baptist Church in David's honor and memory.
