David
Buchholz
December 6, 1937 – April 2, 2022
David Buchholz passed away on April 2 nd 2022 at DeSoto Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 6, 1937 the day before Pearl Harbor and it fueled his desire to serve his country. Dave joined the Navy as soon as he could and served there for three years before transferring to the Air Force where he served for 18 years. Dave traveled the world during his stint in the service and ended up in Alaska after his Honorary Discharge.
Anchorage, Alaska is where he met his wife, Barbara. Always the adventurous type, Dave got a small plane pilot license and owned his own plane. He flew around the state of Alaska with his wife at his side for years, until he decided to switch from the air to the sea. Dave traded his plane for an oceangoing boat and lived in the small fishing town of Whittier, Alaska for years. He enjoyed taking friends and family on fantastic fishing adventures for many years.
After that phase of his life was satisfied, he moved with his wife Barbara to sunny Arcadia, Florida where he spent the remainder of his life playing golf and enjoying the leisure lifestyle that Florida offers.
Dave was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew and loved him. He will be sorely missed by many.
Dave is survived by his wife Barbara, Brother "Tex" Buchholz, son Alan AuBuchon (wife, Cristie) granddaughter Audrey Fredericks (husband, Michael), grandson Garrett Slifer (wife, Megan) and many great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother, George Buchholz Jr., son Michael Buchholz and grandson Chris AuBuchon.
