Damus loved and cherished his children. Ariel his only son in the United States and his best friend called him every day until his last breath. Came to Arcadia and said to his son I will not leave you behind.

He said to his wife, Marlene, my promise to you is to always love you, and to take care of you until my end days. He ensured to marry her at his age and make a beautiful home. In which he always told his family he would soon retire to travel and spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Message from son.

Papa, you always said you accomplished everything you said you would accomplish. You made peace with God. You always said that when you leave this earth, that you would leave with all your energy and with happiness all around. I will miss you calling every day. I will miss you my best friend and love you forever.

Damus was an active church member of North Hillsborough Baptist Church of Arcadia. He was a well-respected man in the Haitian community. Damus was someone who you can count on in helping others.

Greatest Hero and Best friend

This world has many heroes, some you'd know by name. They give their best at what they do, so they deserve their fame. But among all those heroes this world ever had, there is not one admired more than the guy I called Papa, my best friend. Perhaps not like the others, he doesn't look for praise. He's heroic in his special way, in his thoughtful caring ways. He always keeps his word; someone you can depend on. Always a true friend.

Visitation is Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5-7pm at North Hillsborough Baptist Church in Arcadia. Service is Saturday, February 3, 2024, at North Hillsborough Baptist Church in Arcadia at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
