Cynthia O. Hampton of Arcadia passed away Monday, October 14, 2024. She was born on March 12, 1957, in Dublin, Georgia.

She graduated from DeSoto County High School in 1975. She recently retired after 31 years from the DeSoto County School system as a School Bus Driver. She also participated in Women of the Moose, was Junior Reagent and chairperson.

She was always ready to help anyone in need. She loved watching her Tampa Bay Bucs and looked for any opportunity to make her famous baked beans, and chicken and yellow rice.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and Nonnie. Cynthia loved her grandchildren and would brag to everyone about them.

She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck, and mother Dorothy Mixon.

She is survived by Ralph Mixon (dad) Rachel Hampton (mother-in-law), sons Charles Wade Hampton Jr. of Lake Charles, LA; Steven (Nikki) Hampton of Pt. Charlotte, FL, and daughter Sheri Ross of Arcadia, FL. There are 4 grandchildren Kansas Ross, Merritt Ross, Cheyenne Hampton, and Savannah Hampton as well as numerous nieces and nephews and Special niece Cindy Neads. She is also survived by her sisters Debra Neads and Vicki McCorquodale of Arcadia, FL and brother Wendall Mixon of Ft. Pierce, FL.

The Visitation will be Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 1:00PM—2:00PM in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL 34266. The Service will immediately follow in the Chapel with Pastor Ellis Cross officiating.
