Constance Connie Davis, age 77, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away Aug. 30, 2008 Connie was born in DeSoto Co. and had lived in most of her life in DeSoto Co. Connie was a graduate of Florida State University, class of 1953, receiving her bachelor s degree in music education. Upon her graduation, she enlisted in the U. S. Air Force as an Airman 1st. Class stationed in San Antonio, TX. Connie played 1st chair clarinet. She also played the bassoon, and when marching, she was the bass drummer. She was discharged in 1956 from the military as a Staff Sergeant. She continued her education by using the G. I. benefits she had earned while in the service. Connie retired from National Cash Register Co., Bradenton, Fl. as a computer analysis. She also worked for the state of Fl. in the area of mental health. Connie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Arcadia where she sang in the church choir. Connie loved her small cats and dogs. Survivors are a brother, Alfred Davis, Illinois, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00AM on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 from the Ponger-Kays-Grady Chapel, with Dr. Ted Land officiating, burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
