Connie Jean Welles, age 70, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in Port Charlotte, Florida.  Connie was born in Maryland and moved to Desoto County, Florida when she was one year old.

She was a graduate of DeSoto High School, Class of 1970.  After graduating from DHS, Connie attended the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia, where she was awarded an Associate Degree.

She served as a teacher's aide at DeSoto Middle School.  Connie enjoyed being a part of the activities of the school where she would volunteer as a chaperone whenever she had an opportunity.  She was an avid shopper and enjoyed cooking.  Connie once served as the Secretary of the National Cutting Horses Association.

Connie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Arcadia, Florida.

Survivors are her brother, Richard D. "Bubba" Welles Jr. and a close friend Cheri Coleman both of Arcadia, Florida.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, R. D. Welles Sr., and Eugenia Trawick Welles.
