Claudia Castillo, age 46 passed away with her son Abel on January 19, 2024 in Arcadia, FL. She was born on January 22, 1977 in Tampa, FL. to Basilio Reyes and the late Petra Araiza. Claudia was a resident of our community for the past 16 years, and lifetime resident of Florida. She was of the Christian and member of Iglesia Cristiana Pacto de Fe.

There are many words that come to mind when you think of Claudia, she was a loving, compassionate, optimistic, selfless, and strong soul. She was the rock of the family and will be missed immensely. Claudia graduated from Rivera High School in 1995, after moving to Arcadia she was first employed at RCMA then became employed by Arcadia Housing Authority. In her spare time, she enjoyed Zumba, working out at the gym, running, gardening, travel, going to church and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three daughters Aimee (Matthew Garcia) Castillo, Yessenia (Jonathan Castro) Castillo and Rosalinda Castillo. Father Basilio Reyes and siblings Jose L. Reyes, Julio Reyes, Maria A. Garcia, Roberto Reyes and Ruben Reyes. Four grandsons Christian A. Garcia, Julian A. Garcia, Giovanni M. Castro, Davian A. Garcia and baby Castro and numerous nieces and nephews.

Claudia was preceded in death by her husband Abel Castillo, Sr., Mother Petra Araiza and her youngest child Abel Castillo, Jr.

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia.

Funeral services will be on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00am at the chapel with Rev. Dilman Fuentes of Iglesia Cristiana Pacto de Fe officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Primitive Cemetery 10232 State Road 674, Wimauma, FL. 33598
