Claude Powell, born on March 22, 1943, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. His remarkable life spanned 83 years, during which he was a source of love, wisdom, and steadfastness to all who knew him.
Claude was the beloved husband of Ruby Powell, with whom he shared many years of companionship and devotion. Together, they built a strong and loving family. Claude was a proud father to his children: Eddie Powell, Dorothea Altman, Robert Powell, Jennifer Singleton, Yvonne Hensley, Bonnie Simpson, and Karen Albritton. He was also a caring father-in-law to Melissa Powell, Joel Altman, Lori Powell, Jeff Singleton, Danny Hensley, and Sam Albritton. His legacy will live through his twenty grandchildren and forty-nine great-grandchildren. His warmth and guidance touched the lives of each member of his family, leaving an enduring legacy of kindness and strength.
Claude's sense of family extended beyond his immediate circle. He was a cherished brother to Barbara Rogers and Sarah Calvert, whose lifelong bonds with Claude were marked by support and affection through every season of life.
As Claude joins those who have gone before him, he is reunited with his late mother, Lucille Allen; his beloved son, Keith Simpson; his grandparents, Sebastion Coker and Amzie Coker; and his granddaughter Erika Naranjo.
Throughout his life, Claude was known for his deep commitment to his family and community. His resilience in the face of hardship, unwavering ethical compass, and ability to inspire trust and laughter will be treasured memories for those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Claude Powell's life at the First Assembly of God, located at 1397 S. Florida Ave, Wauchula, FL 33873. Visitation will be held on June 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the same location.
Claude's influence and love will be felt for generations. His story is not only one of years well-lived but of a life richly blessed with love, faith, and family—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
