Charley Earl Woods Sr., of Ona, died August 25, 2022. He was born February. 9, 1942, and was a lifelong resident of Hardee County.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic and a deacon at Ona Baptist Church. He was a loving, caring man and remembered as being hardworking.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Joyce Woods; two brothers; three sisters, and several grandchildren.

He is survived by Imogene (Clifford), of Avon Park, Dennie (Danny) Palmer, of Fort Meade, Cindy (Vernon) Richardson, of Zolfo Springs, Audrey (Junior) Creswell, of Ona, Charley Woods Jr. (Charlotte), of Marsville, Mo., John Woods (Candace), of Ona, Donald Woods (Lizanna), of Zolfo Springs; 33 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Sept. 3. Services will follow from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
