Charles "Chuck" Hampton, age 68, passed away Wednesday morning, December 20, 2023. He was born January 13, 1955, in Arcadia, Florida to Harold C. Hampton and Rachel M. Newberry.

He was a lifelong resident, graduating in the Class of 1973 from Desoto High School.  Chuck owned Hampton Truck and Trailer repair. He was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Hunter Education Instructor for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Elk of the year. He was an Elk's club member for 35 years, also a member of the Moose Lodge. He was of the Baptist faith.

Chuck enjoyed hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and loved singing karaoke. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father and papa. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman that loved spending time in the Everglades at "the camp".

He is survived by his wife Cynthia Hampton, children Charles "Wade" Hampton Jr. of Lake Charles, LA, Steven (Nikki) Hampton of Arcadia, Florida, and Sheri (Jaime) Ross of Arcadia, Florida, siblings Jim (Linda) Hampton, Mary Ann (Roland) Wilson, Susan (Lance) Beckham, and four grandchildren Kansas and Merritt Ross, Cheyenne and Savannah Hampton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Chuck is preceded in death by his father Harold Hampton.

Memorial contributions (In lieu of flowers) may be made to the local Arcadia Moose Lodge 1327 to support Moose Charities.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 10:00am until 11:30am at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:30pm at the chapel with Rev. Ellis Cross of N. Hillsborough Baptist Church officiating.
