Charles W. Gore, age 78, passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 in Arcadia, FL. Charles was born in Glyndon, MD on September 14, 1933, moving to Arcadia 14 years ago from WI. He retired as a supervisor of the line striping department for the Maryland State Road Department. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was very active in the American Legion Post K11, where he served as a member of the DeSoto Honor Guard. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors are his beloved wife of 38 years, Ann Gore, Arcadia, two sons; Duran (Kathy) Gore, Hagerstown, MD, Curtis Gore, Hampstead, MD, one step son, Charles (Peggy) Renard, Pompano Bach, FK, one daughter, Deborah Renee (Freed) Ickes, York, PA, and step daughter, Debra (George) Drymalski, Darien, WI, four brothers, Samuel Gore, FL, Robert Gore, Westminster, MD, John Gore, MD, Vernon (Joyce) Gore, Arizona, four sisters, Mary Atzert, Rhode Island, Ida (Tom) Harry, Reisterstown, MD, Alice Klinefelter, MD, and Mary Brown, PA, and seven grandchildren. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Travilla Blake and Margaret Leona Troyer Gore. Memorial services and military honors will be conducted at 11:00AM; Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in the recreation hall at Craig s R. V. Park, Arcadia.
