In loving memory of Carolyn Joyce Coker, who peacefully passed away in Wauchula on Friday, February 2, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Born on March 15, 1937, in Center Hill, FL, she was the beloved daughter of the late Houston and Lillian Moye. Joyce was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 42 years, Harold Gates Coker.

A lifelong member of Fort Green Baptist Church, Joyce's roots ran deep in the community. For over 50 years, she called Fort Green home, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of those around her. Her journey also led her to Tampa, where she resided for 25 years before returning to Hardee County. She retired from the Hillsborough County School System after almost 50 years as a food service manager.

Joyce found joy in the simple pleasures of life, with a passion for cooking that brought people together. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel, and she relished time spent exploring new places with her friends. Above all, she cherished moments with friends and family, leaving an enduring legacy of love and warmth.

Joyce is survived by one son, Danny Coker and his wife Connie (Murdock) of Fort Green, and one daughter Cindy Coker of Americus, GA; 5 grandchildren, Angela Coker Sonnier of Etowah, TN, West Chester (Laren) of Ellaville, GA, Amber Coker Cederstrom (Torben) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jessica Gill Ruiz (Phil) of New Port Richey, FL, and Mason Waters (Shaina) of Fort Green, FL; 8 great-grandchildren, and many devoted nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Mac Moye, and her sisters, Estelle Albritton and Faye Johnson.

Services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at Fort Green Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Thomas officiating. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held at 10:00 am.
