Obituary

Carl Wayne Pickle, Sr. "Pickle Man" went home to be with our Lord and Savior, February 22, 2024. Wayne was born May 23, 1940, in Manila, Arkansas. He was the son of Adrian Pickle and Trudell Adams. He spent most of his childhood in southern Missouri.

Wayne moved to SW Florida in his early twenties. He owned and operated Wayne's Garage in Arcadia, FL for 30+ years. He was an avid Airboater and loved to hunt, fish, camp, and spend time with family. He was a proud officer and member of several Airboat clubs over the years. He was a long-time member of the Arcadia Moose Lodge, and a member of the Nocatee Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Darlene of 33 years. Three children, Lisa Steele (Stephen), Carl Wayne (Sorrel) Pickle Jr. , and Deborah Jeter. Four bonus children Dori Hawkes, Clark (Misty) Hawkes, Tammy (Rob) Anderson and Keri Albritton. Thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He loved and adored them all.

He was preceded by his parents Adrian Pickle and Trudell Adams, Brother Charles Pickle, and Sister Eva Gaskins.

A celebration of life will be on March 8th, 2024 at 11:00am, at North Hillsborough Baptist Church, 253 N. Hillsborough Ave, Arcadia, FL 34266. Pastor Ellis Cross is officiating.  The family would like to invite everyone to bring their favorite dish and join them to continue Celebrating "Pickle Man" at Up River Adventure, 4192 SW Adventure Way, Arcadia, FL 34266. You may drop food off at Up River Adventure, anytime after 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made, in Wayne's memory, to Tidewell Hospice in Arcadia where he received exceptional care.
