CARL B. KING

(November 6, 1948 – April 8, 2022)

Mr. Carl B. King age 73 of Arcadia passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022. Carl was a lifelong resident of DeSoto County and graduated from DeSoto County High School.

He worked in the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office for 23 years as a devoted deputy and outstanding member of the sheriff's office. Carl was an active member of the Arcadia Moose Lodge beginning in 2008 up to 2022, where he served as a past president, past governor, and inner guard.

Carl loved riding motorcycles, fishing, camping, and was a Karaoke enthusiast.

He will be remembered as an outgoing, loving person with a heart of gold, and he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his brother Richard (Carla) King of Arcadia. His family included five nieces; Susie Moody, Kimberly Longnecker, Cheryl Bednick, Mary King and Cynthia King. Also, he had nine nephews; David, John, Michael, Patrick, Wesley King and Josh James Hausman. He had a Step Daughter; Jennilen Morse of Pt. Charlotte, and Stepson Kyle Morse of Arcadia, and a Step Grandson, Wyatt Morse.

Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel King, mother and father, Dick and Gladys King and four brothers David, Ralph, Alfred, and Robert.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00A.M. at the Church of the Brethren located at 25 N. Mills Avenue. There will be a repast in the reception hall immediately following the service.

The Arcadia Moose Lodge will hold a celebration of life as well at a later date.
