Betty Jo Sellers Hollingsworth passed away June 8, 2024 at the age of 91.  She was born November 16, 1932 in Okeechobee, FL to the late Gladstone and Bernice (Keene) Sellers.  She was the youngest of 12 children.  She and her family moved to Arcadia (Pine Level) when she was 10. She has been a member of the Arcadia community for 81 years.  She graduated from DeSoto High School in 1951 and married her high school sweetheart in September 1951.

Betty was a devoted homemaker, loving and caring wife to her husband Clyde for 66 years. She also worked at DeSoto Middle School as a secretary for 10 years.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grand-children.  Her favorite time would be preparing a home-cooked meal to bring everyone in the family together.  Betty was devout about her faith, read her Bible daily, and was a member of Pine Level Church. She enjoyed her Wednesday Silver Linings Bible Study Group and having her social hour and hair styled every Friday.

Betty is survived by her children Nancy Lynn Mills, Mary Lou (Brian) Hoopingarner, Myra Beth Thornton, VC (April) Hollingsworth III all of Arcadia, FL; nine grandchildren:  Matt (Courtney) Mills, Chris Mills, Joshua Mills, Eddie (Chelsea) Thornton, Eli (Erica) Thornton, Jake (Cierra Ward) Thornton, Kirby (Dan McGough) Hollingsworth, Abi Hollingsworth, VC (Courtney) Hollingsworth, IV, and 10 great grand-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband VC (Clyde) Hollingsworth Jr., her son Eddie Hollingsworth, her son-in-law Chuck Thornton, and her 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Visitation and memorial service will be held at Pine Level Church on June 13, 2024 at 10 am and 11 am respectively.  Burial will be at Pine Level Campground Cemetery immediately following the service.
