Betty L. Matheny, age 74, of Arcadia, FL, passed away, July 20, 2008, from a brief illness. She was born in Lost Creek, WV, on May 15, 1934. She lived in Arcadia for the past 34 years, moving here from Sarasota, FL. Betty retired from Canoe Outpost where she was employed for 30 years. She was a member of New Day Baptist Church, Arcadia, FL, where she was the Church Secretary/Clerk. She was very active in the Children s Church. She loved spending quality time with her family. Betty is survived by four daughters, Pam (Don) Rocklin, Ft. Ogden, FL, Tammy (Sylvain) Corriveau, Pt. Charlotte, FL, Jennifer (Timmy) Thomas, and Sherry (Bob Yeager II) Matheny, both of Arcadia, FL; twelve grandchildren, Paul (Sharry), Chris(Tiffany), Megan (Ivan), Eddie, Danielle (Billy), Ryan, Kevin (Sarah), Dylan, Brandon, Kaylynn, Christopher and Chad; four great grandchildren, Kamryn, Alona, Karis, and Chris, Jr.; a brother, Okey Bud Dillon, WV, and sister, Virginia (Robert) Davis, WV. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 9:00PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Chapel, 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 24, 2008, at New Day Baptist Church, Arcadia, FL, with Rev. Ken Galloway officiating.
