Aurin A. Collins, age 82, of Ft. Ogden, FL, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Ft. Meyers, Fl. Aurin was born in Ft. Ogden, FL, August 20, 1928 to Terry A. and Mollie Falany Collins. Aurin was a graduate of Desoto County High School, Class of 1946. He retired as a Master Sergeant (E-8) with the U. S. Army National Guard, Battery A 3BN-116 Field Artillery, Arcadia, FL. He served as a recruiter for the National Guard for more than 15 years. Aurin served on the DeSoto County School Board for 16 years and served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the school board. He was a member of the Florida Farm Bureau and the Florida Cattlemen s Association. Aurin was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Ft. Ogden, Ft. Ogden, Fl, serving as a Deacon for more than 50 years. Survivors are his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara J. Collins, Ft. Ogden, FL, three daughters, Cynthia L. (Selby) Kinard, Nocatee, FL, Cheryl A. (Jack) Kinnecom, Ft. Ogden, FL, and Carla I. Belcher, Tallahassee, FL. He leaves fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Aurin is preceded in death by his parents, Terry A. and Mollie Collins, a daughter Christina C. Negley, a brother Terry D. Collins and a sister Virginia E. Collins Lawrence. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church of Ft. Ogden, FT. Ogden, FL. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church of FT. Ogden with Reverend Wayne Earnest officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Ogden Cemetery.
