Arthur William "Art" Hey Jr., 76, of Arcadia, Fla., went home to heaven on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008. He was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Richmond, Va. Art had lived in Arcadia for the past 12 years, moving to the area from Richmond. He retired as a supervisor from a wastewater treatment facility. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was recalled into the service during the Berlin crisis. He was a member of the Lions Club of Arcadia, the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. Art was a faithful member of Faith Fellowship Church in Arcadia. He was a much-loved husband and a loving father, stepfather and grandfather. His grandchildren loved him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Joan B. Hey of Arcadia; son, Arthur (Myra) Hey III of Mechanicsville, Va.; daughter, Linda Hey of Greensboro, N.C.; stepchildren, Roy Busic of Arcadia, Regina (Lee) Rush of Colonial Heights, Va., Ron (Tina) Mitchell of Powhatan, Va., and Russ (Kristina) Mitchell of Richmond; 17 grandchildren; and his first great-grandchild, who is due this month. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Renee Mitchell. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today, Sunday, March 2, 2008, at the Bread for God's Children building at Faith Fellowship Church, 1806 S.E. Cross Ave., Arcadia.
