Antonio A. Gaitan, age 80, of Arcadia, FL. passed away November 29, 2010 in Arcadia. He was born in Piedras, Negras, Mexico January 17, 1930. He moved to Arcadia in 1967 from Brownfield, Texas. Antonio owned and operated a fruit and vegetable stand in Nocatee, FL. He was a hard working man who loved gardening and staying busy. Antonio was a very loving father and grandfather. He was a generous man, donating his resources and time to others in need. Antonio was a member of St. Paul s Catholic Church, Arcadia, FL. Antonio is survived by two sons; Juan A. (Francis) Gaitan, Ithaca, MI. and Julio (Norma) Gaitan, Arcadia, three daughters; Amelia Garcia, Austin, TX, Silvia (Timoteo) Rodriguez, Arcadia, FL, and Martha A. (Amador) Sanchez, Snyder, TX; 28 grand children and 36 great grandchildren. Antonio is preceded in death by his wife Petra in 1998. and a sister Maria Banda. A Rosary recital will be at 6:00PM Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. A visitation will follow until 8:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30PM Friday, December 3, 2010 at St. Paul s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
