Brother Andrew Lee Evans of Arcadia, FL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in Sarasota, FL. Andrew was born on December 16, 1953, to the late Johnnie Evans Sr. and Odell Evans in Hollandale, MS. He was a member of the Arcadia Community for more than fifty years and attended Smith-Brown School System. Andrew received Christ at a young age. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Odell Evans, brothers, Percy Lee Evans and Eddie "Bo" Evans.
Andrew was a hard-working and dedicated person. He worked many years as a skilled heavy equipment operator for Forsberg Construction Inc. until his retirement. In his free time Andrew enjoyed laughing, joking, and being around family. He will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Andrew smile, laughter, and easy-going spirit will be greatly missed.
Andrew leaves behind to cherish his memories, four brothers, Robert (Eliza) Evans, Johnnie (Queen) Evans, Charles Evans, and Tommy Lee Evans, all of Arcadia, FL. and two sisters, Georgia (William) Smith and Bonnie (Mack) Childs both of Arcadia, FL. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Visitation will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10:00am – 11:00am at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Nocatee, FL 34268. The service will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Jones. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
