Amie Chrystine
Brown Holley
April 27, 1932 – March 4, 2023
Amie Chrystine Brown Holley went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4 th , 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Haines City, FL on April 27, 1932, Chrystine grew up in Bartow and graduated from Bartow High School where she was an active FFA member. Her feisty demeanor and zest to live life at the fullest is what her classmates remember her most for. She met the tall, lanky Lowell Holley, who also shared her love for everything cattle and agriculture. The two married on June 16, 1951. For 71 years, Chrystine worked alongside Lowell in several different facets of the agricultural industry including showing registered Brahman and Santa Gertrudis cattle across the country for some of the most prominent purebred breeders in the state, a custom hay baling business, and the move to Arcadia introduced the couple to the citrus industry. Together they passed this love of agriculture on to their children and continued to participate in local, regional, and national cattle shows.
Proceeded in death by her parents, Donald L and Lois Brown, Chrystine, Momma Holley or Grandma as she was known to all is survived by her husband of 71 years – Lowell Holley and five children: Donald, David (Mary), Cynthia Holley (Dewey Murray), Bertha Cornett (Tom), and Amie Gough (JR). The matriarch of a large and loving family, Chrystine had nine (9) grandchildren – Amie Facente (Mike), Dusty Holley (Hilary), Hunter Holley (Jessica), Scott Holley (Nikki), Tyler Cornett (Liz), Wyatt Paul, Baylee Paul, Gage Gough, Cason Gough; twelve (12) great-grandchildren – Carrie Pearson (Nathan), Radley Facente, Kaylee Facente, Karlin Facente, Webb Holley, Waverly Holley, Garrett Holley, Weston Holley, Reed Holley, Scotty Holley, Tildan Cornett, Layton Cornett, and one (1) great-great grandson – Creek Pearson.
Always ready to go, Chrystine traveled any chance she got. The small-town country girl got to experience the lights of Paris, France and Bangkok, Thailand, but nothing made her happier than to load up the truck and trailer with a load of good calves and go to a cattle show. Many memories and extended family members were made thru the years while dragging the kids around the state and across the country.
In Lieu of Flowers the family would like you to consider you supporting the Asthma Foundation in her memory.
