Alvin Eloise Williams Boggess, known lovingly to her family and friends as Eloise and "Weezy," passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Ogden, Florida, on June 10, 2026, at the age of 86.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Calvin Clayton Boggess; her parents, Jim and Gladys Williams of Arcadia, Florida; and her brothers, James Williams of Naples, Florida, and Bobby Williams of Lake Placid, Florida.
Eloise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the proud mother of three children: Melanie Hobbs (Dale), Calvin Boggess (Shelley), and Stephanie Cummins (Paul).
She was a cherished grandmother, affectionately known as "Memom," to Aaron Hobbs (Sunni), Jacob Hobbs, Joshua Hobbs (fiancée, Loreal), Hannah Chandler (Tyler), Hill Boggess (Jen), and Conor Cummins. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Summer Rae Hobbs; Cole and Carter Chandler; and Nyla and Nicole Boggess. She was especially excited about the upcoming arrival of her sixth great-grandchild, Autumn Haze Hobbs, due in September. Eloise is also survived by her sister, Nancy Coker of South Carolina.
Eloise graduated from Hardee County High School in 1959, where she was voted Most Attractive in her senior class. Though she was often quiet around others, her family knew her talkative side and the warm laugh that accompanied every story she shared.
She married her beloved husband, Calvin, on July 3, 1960, and dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. From a young age, she learned the value of hard work while helping her mother in the kitchen with cooking, canning, and caring for the household. Her famous green beans that she canned were always requested and enjoyed at family gatherings for generations. Eloise was known for her accepting nature, kind heart, and nonjudgmental spirit.
Eloise had a lifelong love of flowers and took great pride in creating a beautiful backyard garden. Over the years, she enjoyed traveling with her sister-in-law, Diane Williams, to South Carolina, North Carolina, and Pine Mountain, Georgia, where she fell in love with azaleas and dreamed of filling her yard with them.
She also enjoyed collecting antiques and especially loved hosting Easter Sunday celebrations at her home, where family, nieces, and nephews gathered each year for food, fellowship, and the beloved Easter egg hunt.
Another place close to Eloise's heart was her family home on Lake Placid. It was there that she created countless treasured memories with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Having inherited the property from her family, she took great pride in preserving it and later passing that legacy on to her children, ensuring that generations to come could continue making memories in a place she loved so dearly.
Known for her love of family, her warm laugh, and her gentle spirit, Eloise touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to Fort Ogden Baptist Church, where Eloise was a faithful member
