Allison S. Cat Murphy, age 65, passed away, September 18, 2011 in Arcadia, FL. Cat was born November 7, 1945 in Arcadia, FL. He lived the life of a cowboy. He transported cattle both locally and across the U. S. taking them to greener pastures. Not only did he haul cattle, he worked cattle on the ranches. It was his lifelong desire to be a cowboy and he lived out that desire. Allison love being grandpa to all of the neighborhood children. He was affectionately known as the Mayor of Brownville. He was of the Baptist faith, attending Brownville Baptist Church before his health began to fail. Survivors are his beloved wife of 43 years, Carla D. Murphy, a son, Jake (Holley) Murphy, Pottsboro, Texas, and daughter, Kim (David) Paul, Arcadia, FL. Cat also leaves a brother, Lelon (Theresa0 Murphy, Arcadia, FL and two sisters, Margie (David) West, Arcadia, FL, and Frankie Hemphill, North Carolina, four grandchildren, Kyle Lawrence, Andalusia, AL Larrett Lawrence, Saratoga, Wyoming Holley Murphy and Carlley Murphy, Pottsboro, Texas. Cat is preceded in death by his parents, Stanford and Vivian Murphy. Visitation will be conducted from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Graveside services will be at 10:00AM, Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia FL. with Reverend Matt Roberts officiating.
