February 4, 1943 – March 28, 2022
Alice "LaVerne" Keating, 79 passed away on Monday, March 28, in Sebring, Florida. She was a lifelong resident of Hardee County. She was a 1961 Graduate of Hardee High School, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen. She was the first in her family to go to college.
Alice was a Rancher all her life. She was the most caring, loving, and giving person with her family and friends you would ever meet. She was a member of Florida's First Assembly of God. She loved painting and gardening.
Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a faithful follower of God, who was always 'super terrific, fantastic,and Blessed".
She is survived by her children Rhonda Keating of Tampa, Florida, and Dwight (Doranda) Keating of Fish Branch, Brother Glen (Freida) Bowen, sisters Ida Mae Kipp and Linda (Hollis) Albritton. Grandchildren Amanda Acker, Michelle Keating, Stephanie Coatney, Shelby Keating Romero, and Kaleb Keating, great-grandson Christian Acker. She is preceded in death by her parents C.R. and Cora Lee Bowen, her husband Bill Keating, Son Billy Keating, Sister Helen Keller, and her great-grandson Chance Acker.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Florida's First Assembly-God, 1397 S Florida Ave, Wauchula, FL 33873.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 pm at Florida First Assembly-God with Rev. Jeff Fowler officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia.
Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes Wauchula is in charge of the arrangements.
