In Loving Memory
"Bertie'' passed away peacefully Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Florida. She was born December 14, 1931, to Albert and Betty Linkenback in Miami, Florida.
She graduated from Fort Pierce High School. She soon met and married George Heine Jr. They moved to Wauchula and were happily married for over 50 years. "Bertie" was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Wauchula where she served for many years in different Capacities within the church. She worked as an aid at Junior High School and later retired from Peace River Electric Company.
She remarried Robert Weidman in 2005. They enjoyed traveling a great deal before his death. "Grannybird" loved and was loved dearly by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with family and coloring became a great past time in her later years.
She is survived by her sons George (Kay) Heine III of Wauchula, Florida, Mike (Denice) Heine, adopted daughter Charlotte Manley of Wauchula, Florida. Grandchildren, Megan (Glen) Harris and their children Reece, Gray and Rylan, Ashle (Russ) Riggle and their children Owen, Harvey and Lydia Bird, Ryn (Bailey) Heine and their children Ellie, Ivy and Griffin. Heather Heine and daughter Mya Refoure and Julian Samuels. Grandson, Mikey Heine, great-grandchild, Skylee Heine, step granddaughter, Kara (Jeremy) Goodwyn and children Karson (Seth) Durrance and Kole, Amanda (Mickey) Blas and Children, Maddox and Finley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband George, her second husband Robert, her brother, Billy Linkenback and sister Betty Jean Ellis and grandson Kyle Heine.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10:00-11:00AM in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home at 205 N. 9th Avenue Wauchula, Florida.
The services at 11:00am with Rev. Jim Davis and Interment will follow at Wauchula City Cemetery.
