Aida Iris Ocasio Melendez was born on December 10, 1943, in Coamo, Puerto Rico.  She died on May 14, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Aida was known by her family as Mami, Mama, and Mamita. She was a wife for 60 years and a wonderful homemaker. She loved to take care of her family. Aida enjoyed dancing and listening to music.

Aida was preceded in death by her mother Francisca Melendez, her father Florencio Ocasio, and a daughter Iris Nereida Morales Ocasio.

Aida leaves behind one brother, Alberto, three sisters, Gloria, Bernardina, and Hilda. Also, her spouse Nicolas Morales Ortiz and five children, Miriam E. Morales Ocasio (Alfredo Gomez), Jose H. Morales Ocasio, Raul Morales Ocasio, Nicolas Morales Ocasio (Maricruz Alvarado) and Samuel Morales Ocasio. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was a remarkable woman and a joy to be around. She will be forever missed and live on through her family.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 10:00AM – 12:00PM in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, Florida 34266.

The Funeral Mass will be on May 22, 2023, at 1:00PM at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1330 E. Oak Street, Arcadia, Florida 34266.
