Abel Castillo, Jr. age 12 passed away with his mother Claudia on January 19, 2024. He was born on February 27, 2011 in Arcadia, FL. to the late Abel Castillo, Sr. and Claudia Reyes Castillo. Abel was a lifetime resident of Desoto County and was a Christian.

Abel was a 7th grade student at Desoto Middle School, he was on the Principal's list and Honor roll. He enjoyed playing soccer, basketball, video games, reading, band and spending time with his family and friends. Abel will be remembered as a loving, dependable, outgoing, caring and sometimes goofy kid that his family was so proud of him and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by three sisters, Aimee (Matthew Garcia) Castillo, Yessenia (Jonathan Castro) Castillo and Rosalinda Castillo. Grandfather Basilio Reyes and four Uncles Jose L. Reyes, Julio Reyes, Roberto Reyes and Ruben Reyes, Aunt Maria A.Garcia. Four nephews Christian A. Garcia, Julian A. Garcia, Giovanni M. Castro, Davian A. Garcia and baby Castro.

Abel was preceded in death by his parents Abel Castillo, Sr. and Claudia Castillo and his grandmother Petra Araiza.

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia.

Funeral services will be on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00am at the chapel with Rev. Dilman Fuentes of Iglesia Cristiana Pacto de Fe officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Primitive Cemetery 10232 State Road 674, Wimauma, FL. 33598
