Everett R. Mayhew

Everett R. Mayhew age 72 of Labelle, FL formerly of Arcadia passed away Thursday, October 06, 2011 in Lehigh Acres. He was born December 15. 1938 in Topeka, Kansas coming to Labelle fifteen years ago from Riverdale, FL.

He was an Ordained Minister in the Cowboy’s for Christ and was a member and worked with the youth at Reality Ranch in Zolfo Springs. Everett enjoyed fishing when time permitted. He faithfully served this country in the U.S. Navy until he retired as a Senior Chief Petty officer in “Seabees“ Construction Brigade.

Everett is survived by his beloved wife Alethea Blount Mayhew of Labelle; five sons, Carl (Lee) Wyatt of Bonita Springs, Mitchell Wyatt of Estero, Mark (Blanche) Wyatt of Labelle, Martin(Tracy) Wyatt of Cape Coral, John (Kelly) Wyatt of Port Charlotte, Luke Wyatt of Labelle; two brothers Jack (Rosemary) Mayhew of Bolder, CO., Gary (Joy) Mayhew of Fontana, KS; four sisters, Joyce Corbett of Topeka, KS, Sandy Switzer Topeka, KS, Sherri Frost of North Carolina, and Judith Mayhew, FL, nine grandchildren; Patricia Mayhew, Jessica Mayhew, Delana Collins, Rachael Barbour, Mark Anthony “Tony” Wyatt, Debbie Alexander Wyatt, Michael Wyatt, Katie Wyatt, and Amanda Wyatt, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Dorothy Mayhew and one son Robert Mayhew.

Visitation will be 10:00am to 11:00am Monday, October 10, 2011 at Joshua Creek Cemetery. Services will begin at 11:00am with Rev. W.T. “Bill” Maddox officiating and DeSoto County Veterans Honor Guard will be performing Military Honors .
